The Top 3 Pitfalls of Branding Your Business

Let’s have some fun shall we.

I’m not much for traditional blogs that are lengthy, ain’t nobody got time for that. So I’m going to give my top 3 pitfalls in the form of a countdown.

Here we go ...

Your Logo is not your brand.

This is one of the toughest issues I encounter with business owners. Thinking that because they have a logo they have a brand. Yah, no. Your brand has nothing to do with your logo, fonts, colors, website, or even YOU. A (brand) is the experience you offer your audience. Defining that experience can be a challenge, even more so, projecting the experience you wish your audience to have in the form of visual content (ie, logo, colors, social grid posts, etc.)

Which leads us into,

YOU are not your audience.

The most common statement from business owners; “I designed my branding for myself, it shows my personality which will make my dream audience want to work with me”.

Um, ... okay, then why hasn’t it worked yet?

The issue with this mindset is that your audience only cares about how you make THEM feel. So if you are only creating visuals that YOU like, and are struggling to attract the audience you want than I would bet they don’t care for what you are designing. It can be hard to know what your audience wants to see from you bringing us to …

Get some Clarity.

More often than not the reason a brand is not attracting the audience desired is because there isn’t a clearly defined audience to attract. I know how much of a challenge this can be. I struggled with this myself. But it wasn’t until I finally got drastic with narrowing my audience that I was able to reach (in a short period of time) who I really wanted to serve.

No matter how much we desire to serve and help everyone we just can’t. What resonates with one person will repel another. That’s just the facts. When you stop trying to attract everyone and start focusing on one super specific type, that’s when you’ll start to see your efforts pay off.

To help you with this process of (getting drastic) I have created a complete walkthrough that breaks the process down into bite sizes that will keep you from overthinking it and provide the clarity needed to move forward and showcase yourself in a way that not only attracts MORE dream clients but also is as awesome as you are!
